The Buick Skylark is a Coupe that appears in Driver: You Are the Wheelman. It is the default car of Miami, Training, and the Desert. The car takes many design aspects from the 1972 Buick Skylark, the 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass, and the 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle. It is a metallic blue, sleek two-door muscle car with rough handling and average speed and durability, compared to other drivable cars.

Differences between the PC and PlayStation versions[]

There are multiple noticeable differences in the visual design of the PC version of the car compared to the PlayStation version. The car is slightly longer in the PC version, The PC version of the car has dual circular headlights on both sides of the grill, while the PlayStation version has outer circular headlights, with smaller rectangular headlights closer to the center. It's also notable that the textures for the headlights are noticeably higher resolution in the PlayStation version. The rear end and headlights are completely different across both versions, with the PC version's rear end closely resembling the Cutlass, with small thin rectangular taillights that touch the top of the chrome bumper. The PlayStation version of the rear is clearly based on the Chevelle, with a shorter bumper, with two sets of dual circular taillights. The windows and windshield are also darker in the PlayStation version.

Trivia[]

  • In contrast to the starting cars of other maps, which only appear in their respective levels, the Skylark is also the car the player drives in the Parking tutorial, as well as the Desert area,
  • The secret car from Chicago bears a similar shape and similar overall dimensions to the Skylark, being based on the very similarly designed Buick GSX.
  • The iOS version of the game redesigns many of the cars, including the Skylark, giving it a lighter color scheme, two sets of three rectangular taillights, and dual rectangular headlights with circular bulbs inside them. The grill has also been changed drastically, having a dividing bar down the center, with multiple other bars spanning the width of the grill horizontally.
